The
weather was much better for this event than it was for the last event in
March! The Spring Meeting and Luncheon was held at the Holiday Inn
in Nashua on May 14, 2005. It was the first time we had returned
to the Holiday Inn in a number of years, and it was better than before.
142 members and guests were well fed and enjoyed a fascinating and informative
presentation by our guest speaker. We were honored to have RADM David
P. Pekoske, USCG, Commander, First Coast Guard District in Boston travel
to New Hampshire to provide us with an overview of the vital role played
by the men and women of the Coast Guard, especially close to home here
in New England! At the beginning of his remarks, he pointed out that
he occupies the same official quarters as chapter member RADM Ray Wood,
USCG (Ret.), when Ray held the same billet as Commander, First Coast Guard
District. They definitely had an opportunity to reminisce about past
experiences! A good time was had by all!
